When Winning Drowings Must Be Picked Up at Visionarios Art Museum South Texas
Competition RULES
ELIGIBILITY AND CATEGORIES
All participants must be students attending grades 1-12 in a public, individual or home school in Due south Texas and may submit but one entry per category and no more than than 2 entries per person.
GRADES 1-ii, 3-5
-Moisture Media (liquid applied with a brush)
-Dry Media (pencil, ink, marking, printmaking)
-Mixed Media (artwork that is made using two or more mediums ie. collage)
GRADES 6-eight, High SCHOOL: Art I-II, ART III-IV
-Wet Media (liquid applied with a brush)
-Dry Media (pencil, ink, marker, printmaking)
-Photography/Digital Art
-Mixed Media (artwork that is made using two or more mediums ie. collage)
Please note that entered works may exist re-categorized at the Curator'south discretion if medium is incorrectly identified.
THEME AND WRITING COMPONENT
Entries should be based on the student'southward response to the prompt of What'southward Your Vision? Having a vision focuses on tomorrow, provides a sense of purpose and possible new direction. In a time of dubiety and globe-changing events, we want to know what your students envision for the time to come, either personally, for their community, or beyond.
As part of Visionarios' support of literacy and weaving art into course curriculum, students are required to submit a brusk written statement that describes the significance of their cosmos. Artwork submitted to the contest without a written statement will not be judged and therefore, volition not be eligible to win an award.
PRESENTATION OF Piece of work
Entries must be sturdily mounted and preferably disordered. Just framed entries must be fix to hang with wire or monofilament line securely attached. If framing work, please DO Not apply drinking glass. Unframed works will be displayed using push pins. The entry must not exceed 30″ in length or width. A copy of the signed educatee entry course MUST be fastened to the back of the work.
Borderline
Entries will exist accepted
– Thursday, March 3, 2022, nine:00 am – 5:thirty pm
– Fri, March four, 2022, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
No entries accustomed prior to March 3rd or subsequently March quaternary. Entries must be delivered to the Art Museum of South Texas, 1902 N. Shoreline Blvd. by borderline. Teachers should submit grade work in groups, along with the original signed Pupil Entry Forms and other information listed under "Instructor Checklist."
Delight make sure to enter your information into the ONLINE TEACHER SUBMISSION FORM and submit information technology on the website before bringing your work to the Museum. Please call 361.825.3504 for assistance, if needed.
Showroom AND Option UP
Please practice non submit work that cannot remain on showroom for the entire bicycle or throughout the summer months in the effect the artwork is selected as a winner. By entering the contest, you are agreeing to keep your piece of work on view at the Art Museum of S Texas without interruption. Entries are scheduled to be on display from March 25 to May 1, 2022 during normal business hours. Winning entries will be exhibited at the Port of Corpus Christi building during the summer of 2022 and will exist kept by the Museum from the fourth dimension of entry until the end of August 2022. Non-winning entries may exist picked upwards from May vii through May 22 By APPOINTMENT Just. Please call 361.825.3504 or email AMSTed@tamucc.edu.
AWARDS AND PRIZES
Accolade winners will be notified and prizes will be awarded at the Visionarios Family Twenty-four hours and Awards Presentation, April x, 2022 from ii to 4 pm at the Art Museum of South Texas. *Please note that unvaccinated visitors are strongly encouraged to article of clothing a mask at the issue.
The following prizes will be awarded for each of the the three media categories in elementary (dry out media, wet media, mixed media) and each of the four media categories in middle and high school (dry media, moisture media, mixed media, photography/digital arts).
- 1st Place – $100
- second Place – $ 50
- 3rd Place – $ 25
- Honorable Mention – Museum Family Pass
- Each teacher with a student who wins a start place award will receive $50.
By submitting work to the contest, participants enter into the post-obit understanding:
Sponsors and/or their representatives cannot assume responsibility for theft, loss or damage of work submitted before or afterwards the exhibit. No work may be withdrawn prior to the exhibition. We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the regulations of the competition. Signing the official entry form constitutes acceptance of stated conditions and permission to reprint work/winner's photo for publicity purposes.
